One of my personal favorite American bands of the 2000s is The National. Both of their last two albums (Alligator and Boxer) ended up as the #2 albums in the BAGeL Radio end-of-year charts in their respective years(2007, 2005), so it is most exciting to hear that any new National music will be forthcoming. If I told my 16 year old self that one day I would like something that sounds like The National, I would have kicked my own ass. But I've had their stuff playing on a loop on my Ipod - to work, from work, in the car, etc. etc.

Amazing group. Cant decide if it is their best or not. it's dang good anyway.

The National are heavy hitters for 2007's "Best Of" lists for their album The Boxer. Looking through MOG posts for the band, I didn't see one for the video for "Apartment Story," so here it is.

Well, this year I put much more time into my listening and choices. It was an excellent year in music, and I had a really hard time narrowing albums down to two, top 10 lists (and even more trouble putting them in order, except for my absolute favorites).
