Yep, I'm back. After removing Mog-O-Matic completely and also giving the axe to some of my login apps, then reloading MOM, it seems that System Events no longer is eating my Mac's brain. Not sure what caused the original problem, what caused System Events to claim it was started by MOM, or what made it go away. But I'm happy to be back on MOG and after all, that's what really matters, right?...

I just 'discovered' the Move box set "Movements" in my CD collection during a project to upload all my discs to Ipod... I bought it really cheap at a garage sale without knowing much about the Move other than that after they imploded they spawned E.L.O. I think that's why I never took the time to listen to it, but now I find that it blows the doors off anything i'm familiar with by that group. ...
