The Misfits are an American punk rock band formed in 1977 and led by singer and songwriter Glenn Danzig (born Glenn Anzalone) and bassist Jerry Only (born Gerald Caiafa). They were highly influential on the genres of heavy metal, punk rock and rock music in general. as you may be able to tell by my music collection, i'm quite a fan of the danzig-era original misfits. the lyrics are awfully blunt, inappropriate, and comical. this can best be summed up with the opening line of the song "last caress."
problem is, they don't have as many songs as a diehard fan would desire, since glenn eventually moved on to samhain and danzig, which both have a more serious tone to their horror themes.

In those days (1997) I knew a guy named Don who worked at the local Tower Records, and he shows up at the coffee joint/ record shop I hung at with a demo of this album that we had all been waiting for.... Devils Night (October 30th) was a really real event in my young life. Growing up down the road from Detroit you couldn’t escape it. On the news there was always images of the city burning, abandon buildings set alight as the Fire Department rushed from scene to scene. Soooo, last night I was at a show, Panic at the Disco and the Dresden Dolls, and during the Dolls set they Cover Baby one more Time, the audience of mostly pre-teens of course go crazy, and I start singing along.
