Assuming that the songs on Moon Moon are two throwaway tracks from the near perfect Don't Wake Me Up, the Microphones (or Microphone, since it is just one person) continue to outshine any other lo-fi basement recording with this EP. This time, however, the music consists mostly of just one guy, his guitar, the occasional background noise, and multi-layered backing vocals provided by the Microphonettes (although she's not officially called that on record). With no drums, no samples, and no tape loops, it's simply droning indie-pop with production kept at a minimal level.
