Rapper Jayceon Taylor, better known in the hip-hop world as the Game, turned to music for redemption after his wild youth led to his near-fatal shooting. By the time he recovered from his wounds, he had developed a formidable style rooted in old-school West Coast gangsta style. It's fitting then, that the Game wound up recording for Dr. Dre's Aftermath label, which helped propel the rapper to massive success with 2005's THE DOCUMENTARY.

Big Dreams was recorded immediately after Game's whopping 8-day jail sentence (he gets no points for that, Paris Hilton stayed behind bars longer). Three NYPD officers who fired 50 rounds into a vehicle killing 23 year old Sean Bell, were acquitted on Friday of manslaughter charges. Several members of the hip hop community have spoken out with disappointment in the verdict, including The Game, Cormega, Prodigy and Papoose.

The Game's L.A.X., G-Unit's Terminate On Site, and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III were given new release dates yesterday much to fans dismay.
G-Unit, Lil Wayne, and Nas are now scheduled to be released on July 1st, while L.A.X. hits shelves on July 8th. The Game called in to a San Diego radio station yesterday to explain the delay and talk a little bit about the album.

The Game was released from jail after only 8 days for pulling out a gun in a school zone, but he's not done with the courts just yet. After days of back and forth conflicting statements from lawyers, managers, and jail representatives, we can finally confirm he IS a free man. Yesterday morning, reports got out that The Game was released from prison after only 8 days, due to overcrowding. A few hours later, Game's manager corrected the reports, stating that he was simply transferred to a different prison. His past affiliations with gangs were cited as a reason for the move. Earlier today TMZ reported that rapper The Game had been released from prison after serving only 8 days of his sentence (read that post *HERE *). We've now learned that the story was only half true. According to Allhiphop.com, The Game was simply transferred to a different prison as a precautionary measure due to his past involvement with gangs.

Talk about Hollywood treatment. The Game went from facing a five year sentence, to plea bargaining a 3 month jail stint, to actually only being behind bars one week. The Game's lawyer, Chapman Holley confirmed to TMZ that the rapper only served a fifth of his time before becoming a free man. He released a new mixtape titled 'BWS Radio #3: Free Game' right before he went in, so at least fans got some free music out of the deal.

The Game turned himself in to the authorities this morning, and began serving a 90 day sentence. The jail stint is a result of a plea bargain he settled on with L.A. prosecutors. In 2007, The Game pulled out a gun on someone during a basketball game in South Central L.A. He was charged with a felony gun possession in a school zone.

The Game plead no contest yesterday to felony weapons charges. This incident stems from an altercation in which The Game pulled a gun on a man within a school zone. He'll be serving 60 days behind bars for his troubles, along with three years probation and community service.

The Game has added a third tattoo to his face in the last three years, in an attempt to cover the last two. It all started in 2005 when he got a butterfly on his cheek that "represented new life". During Nas' New Years Eve party, The Game revealed his third and final album is currently being recorded and should be released in June. The album is tentatively titled "LAX" and will feature production from Dr. Dre.
