So I am prepping to do a video interview with the New York garage/pop outfit French Kicks this wk. I'd love some stellar mog questions from you guys. It's no April Fools rickrolling trick (gotta credit You Tube for its stunt though). French Kicks has indeed just released its new studio album, "Swimming" and it's only available on iTunes. But the sweetest part here is that they made the whole album available for streaming on imeem!

French Kicks are set to release Swimming on Vagrant Records this Spring and launch a US tour on April 1st. After seeing the F. Kicks a couple years back perform in New York, I had placed them alongside Yo La Tengo as my favorite. With the release of Two Thousand, specifically Knee High, Keep It Amazed and Rebirth, YLT seemed destined for second place....but after watching this live fotage (something seems off) YLT has an opening to reclaim numer uno. - I'm thinking the Kicks are missing Stinch. http://music.aol.com/network_live/concert_videos/french_kicks/ondemand?icid=fk_cb... Heard the new one from French Kicks? It puts the "sub" in subtle, and travels past like an odorless plume of faint grey smoke.
The poorly written Pitchfork review of it that posted today was spot on despite its wrongness.
For the moment, I prefer to remember them from happier times.
