This past weekend I found myself having those delightful spine tingling feelings of hearing new music that rubs your ears in all the right ways. First off Marigold's post on The Radio Dept. set me off in a listening spree to catch up on what I missed from them. Then The Epochs came into my weekend and suddenly I was torn between the two. If you went to, read about, or were anywhere near the CMJ Festival last week, you probably feel that you're totally up to speed on all that is broadly defined as "indie rock." But before you pat yourself on the back for knowing who Dragons of Zynth are, you should consider the fact there are a few bands that didn't make it into the myopic view of the blogosphere. Geeze, I never know how to start these kinds of entries. I like this band, you should like them too. What else do you need to know? They're from Brooklyn, have one album out already called Ten Billion Light Years of Solitude and are working on another one right now. I downloaded some tracks by them awhile back but didn't really listen to them until this week when they randomly popped up when I had my player on random. Listening to them was a good contrast to the crappy din... MORE
