Download it (legally) while you can. Their new album, The Crane Wife, doesn't release until October 3. After an initial listen to this single, I can say that Colin and crew don't disappoint. While the track sounds like a prototypical Decemberists song, it is a little cleaner and "better" produced (i hate that phrase) than their past efforts. i've had to burn the decemberist's _crane wife_ twice now for co-workers. i think it's because i play it so often while i'm at work.while i know that this is technically ...well... "wrong", i'd rather them learn to love my music by getting it for free than having to listen to the shit they'd initially rather be playing (i.e. taking back sunday or rise against).apparently it's good i didn't get to go to the leftover crack show - 2 of the people i was supposed to go with br... Review: Decemberists - The Crane Wife While wandering through a park in my hometown this summer, I came across a confederate civil war re-enactment camp (oddly enough, since I live in Long Island, NY). Twenty or so full-grown men and women were dressed in linens, brandishing bayonets, cooking stew in the ground, and wholeheartedly refusing to admit we now live in the age of iPods and MTV. If they did, be damn sure one of the Decemberists' soldier songs would be blasting ... MORE
