This album is probably my least favorite Decemberists album, although none the less amazing. I give the album a 7.8 and pick the last song, "California One / Youth and Beauty Brigade" as the album's clincher. I'm a sucker for long songs.
I was walking back onto campus for the third time today, listening to music as per usual (Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect was what came up on shuffle), when I looked up and wondered where the bloody hell I was. Now, I walk this path at least twice a day and know it backwards and forwards, but I just became so invovled with the imagery and sounds of the song that when I looked around it took a good thirty seconds before I realized where I was, who I was and what I was doi... I feel that I should maybe comment on the whole Stephen Colbert versus The Decemberists affair, except that I have nothing to say save that this will be most entertaining and is testing my loyalties. Television and music are both very dear to my heart. However, if I had to choose between living without music or living without television, music would win. Props to both sides for using Star Wars. It reminds me of chem and physics classes and those are good memories. (Except ... MORE
