After being dropped by Capitol Records a few year back, the Dandy Warhols are starting their own venture with the World's Fair Group for their next album Earth To The Dandy Warhols, due May 5th. The band will release their seventh studio album via the label offshoot Beat the World. World's Fair are the people behind the Flaming Lips, El-P, British Sea Power.
Expressing frustration about the Capitol fiasco guitarist Peter Holmstrom told Billboard.com, "Our records ... MORE

I have been making my way though the third season of Veronica Mars while also revisiting the second season.. I know it's a little strange.. anyway, in the past I have had more than a few people ask me what's up with the fact that I dig the show, and this is my answer... Most of the time I just throw out the "Spunky Girl Detective, what's not to like?" line, but in truth is much deeper than that.. First off, I did not go to a normal High School, and thank god for th... MORE

Don't let the irony of the fact that Courtney Taylor is being critical over people being pretentious and going with the trend flow without feeling it get in the way (SNORT).
The word cool might just be one of the most multi-meaning, subjective and misunderstood words ever. What is cool? Smoking, skinny jeans, bangs, drugs, getting drunk, starving to be too skinny, having 523532 CDs, knowing indie bands that haven't been created yet, fucking around? And how much do you sa... MORE

Funny little video for a song off The Dandy Warhols' 1997 album "...Come Down." I wasn't even aware this video existed. Frontman Courtney Taylor once referred to this psychedelic track as "sugar-coated Lloyd Cole." I tend to agree.

My big brother is the one who always gets me into new music. I can't count how many times, especially when I was younger, I'd sneak onto his computer and just copy cd after cd (without running into anything potentially scarring, thank god). I've always said he was much more in touch with the real world than I was. My grandmother died a few weeks ago Tuesday, and I didn't find out until that Thursday. This is somewhat symbolic of my life, as I'm always late for everythi... MORE

I just found a really cool 'not so new, but new to me' album that I can't stop listening to. If you are a big Dandy Warhols fan and you haven't had a chance to hear "The Black Album/Come on Feel The Dandy Warhols" you are missing out. I had heard about it from a friend and I finally bit the bullet and ordered it and it was worth every penny. It reminds me most of 'Dandys Rule! OK' and 'Come Down.' There are 2 disks (Disk 1 being 'The Black Album' and Disk 2 being 'Come ... MORE

The Dandy Warhols. I dig their music. Actually, I dig it ALot. But I don't like their singer, Courtney Taylor, for three reasons. 1. Out of the 3 times I've watched them live, he somehow managed to vocally disappoint me all 3 times. His voice never took off or rose above the music. I know that other MOGgers that have seen them live do not share this experience, but this is the case with me. 2. The first time I saw them live in 2000, it was in a mini festival here... MORE

Courtney Taylor goes to the My Crush List. So this weekend I was finally able to watch Dig!. For those that don't know, it's a charming 7 year documentary about the highs/lows/admiration/jealously/hate between The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. It's a fabulous music doc. I want to own it. It's sad that Anton Newcombe is such a musical genius, and yet he's a junkie can't keep himself or his band together. I also spent most of the movie crushing o... MORE

in honor of finally watching DiG! last night, I'm going to offer these up. The Dandy Warhols are officially the first band I ever discovered because of the internet. it was 1995 when I got my first computer, and one of the very first websites I visited was a message board for the Smashing Pumpkins. there I met a girl that lived in Portland who claimed to know these awesome people that were in this awesome band named the Dandy Warhols. she talked about them enough to m... The story on this weeks beg, borrow or steal album: I was like 16. It was late '97... yeah, that dates me, I know... not as much as some moggers though, so s'all good. I found myself at a semi-local record store (about 30 minutes from home) buying a sale used copy of The Dandy Warhols Come Down, having spent the past three weeks of my life humming the single "Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth" because MTV still played some decent music in those days.
