A trio version of the Crystals containing only harmony singer Dee Dee Kenniebrew from the lineups that recorded the group's hits in the early '60s re-records those hits on this album. There were six Top 20 entries by the Crystals during 1961-1962 -- "There's No Other (Like My Baby)," "Uptown," "He's a Rebel," "He's Sure the Boy I Love" (the last two originally sung by Darlene Love and the Blossoms, actually), "Da Doo Ron Ron," and "Then He Kissed Me" -- and, when the members of the current group dispose of them, they try other hits from the era associated with other singers, including "One Fine Day" (the Chiffons), "Today I Met the Boy I'm Gonna Marry" (Darlene Love), "Rescue Me" (Fontella Bass), and, in a "Club Mix," "Chapel of Love." The arrangements approximate those of the original recordings, though here they are played largely on synthesizers.
