day two. aside from two moments of technical farts during radiohead's remarkable set last night and a bottleneck at the exit that had people pulling down fences and unleashing swarms of angry bees, which afterwards had us icing down a sting to the jaw, friday proved a rousing start to the festival. here's a quick look ahead to our most anticipated sets for today, in order of appearance. (again...

And I quote, "The Coup, politically radical and Marxist in their music, align themselves with other radical hip-hop groups like dead prez. Friday might be a little less funky without Cody B to school us in the fine art, but I'll do my best to fill in until he gets back. While it seems Cody has thoroughly explored true funk sounds, I like the evolution and reinterpretations that take place once a sound has taken root and started to reseed in other genres. Therefore, I present you with an unexpected twist on Funky Friday - THE CO...

I never really got into The Coup. For me Boots' (guy with the afro) rhyme style was always too basic, even though his lyrics are very intelligent. Anywayz, I still love this tale of the hustler become the hustled. "Get down, get down, get doooown..."
