and so you start singing along….and it just so happens that you know every damn lyric; every little vocal inflection...

Hey kiddies... It's FUNKY FRIDAY & the weather here is perfection !!! I got to take a nice long drive after work today & enjoy some great tunes... the one album I really wanted was of course still on CD & somewhere in the scads of boxes I have yet to get to... so, I am now hangin' with my favorite man, my godson Buboo & he & I danced to the song I really wanted to hear on the perfect day drive !!! Those that know me, know I LOVE to drive with my tuneage rockin... PA may ... MORE

...my HHT is bleeding right on over into my Friday funk feeling, so I'll slap this on right now...Long before Nicole came along, Lionel Richie and his boys were laying down "the real skinny" with tunes like this, the title track to the Commodores' first proper LP...initially this album got no play on pop radio (a good thing, hindsight 20/20) but was on heavy rotation over on the R&B side of the tracks which was where I lived when I was a crumb-snatcher...it still amazes me... Today my iPod shuffled out a lot of slow jazz and moody rock songs, and I was feeling kind of bummed out. Then, suddenly-- SHA-ZAM!! Machine Gun by The Commodores. Suddenly, I'm a rising star in the porn industry, accepting awards, sleeping with sexy girls, and doing coke! Lots of coke! Later on it will get me in trouble, but not now. I'm on top of the world!
