My wife and I woke to the alarm (set to music) yesterday morning for a run with friends. The NPR show Sounds Eclectic was on and the in-studio guest was a group called The Cave Singers. Born of punk roots, these guys have put together a wonderful folk-y CD that has been rolling on my iPod for the past 36 hours. I cannot get enough of it. Ooooo... I found their blog. THE CAVE SINGERS Once again, another track that has latched on to me and I can't seem to shake it. Like an ugly dog that your parents gave you because they thought that you could use some responsibility in life but all you really wanted was pizza and some beer. Just wanted to drop a note to encourage all to check out The Cave Singers debut on Matador. Caught the trio at a free show in Brooklyn and was blown away. Definitely moving on my best of the year list---one of those records that continues to grow with each listen.
