The Lock Up Stage is now the stage where all the heavy rock takes place following what seems to be the demise of the rock day at Reading and Leeds. Early on Tuesday morning on Radio 1’s Punk Show the initial wave of acts for that stage were announced. Billy Talent will headline the stage [...]

But according to the O.C. Register’s Ben Wener, The Bronx show, along [...]
By now, most people have an idea of what to expect from the Bronx. Both previous records (also self-titled) threw up little in the way of surprises, rarely straying from the riff-based formula they could nail in their sleep. As groovy as they were dirty, they were powerhouse modern rock 'n roll records that spat in the face of pretension and instead focused solely on writing fucking great tun...
The Bronx exploded into our consciousness in 2004 with the preternaturally exciting hardcore blast of their first, self titled album. Despite some carping from fans though, the album was a success ; All in all, it's best to think of the record more as a drinking, fucking and fighting rock album than the straight ahead hardcore of the debut and the ambitious alt.
The Bronx's new record not only welcomes the long overdue lead guitarist Vincent Hidalgo and replacement bassist Brad Magers, it has also renewed the band's love for label independence. Issued on White Drugs, the record label managed by the band themselves, it is a departure from their shortlived stay with Island/Def Jam record for [...] No related posts. Sorry.
I caught The Bronx live two years ago opening for Converge and Mastodon. Though the rest of the show that followed them was one of the best shows I've ever witnessed (Converge a transcendent, high energy, jagged mess of noise that translated their aural violence perfectly into a live environment; Mastodon an Earth-rumbling embodiment of [...]
With the release of The Bronx's third album (thoughtfully entitled "The Bronx III") the punk scene definitely has a new titan on the block. The hardcore sound produced by growling guitar riffs and vocals full of aggression has actually seen the band tone down. Earlier records produced by the band were truly wild while this [...]
Our bro-bros at BITPOM have posted pictures from the MetalSucks co-sponsored CMJ showcase this past Tuesday night featuring The Bronx, Trash Talk and Akimbo. To say that all three bands impressed and tore the tiny basement of Fontana's apart would be an understatement. Check out BITPOM for the full photo-set of all three bands. Related posts: THE [...]
Free of the shackles of a major record label, The Bronx frontman Matt Caughthran seemed like a newly reinvigorated man when I spoke to him on the phone this fall. Excited about finally having a team behind the band that actually cares about the band and their awesome new record The Bronx III, Matt told [...]
Lest you forget, MetalSucks is sponsoring a show this year at CMJ, otherwise known as the week in which thousands of annoying skinny pants-wearing indie snobs descend upon downtown Manhattan. But fuck 'em, because there are a ton of great metal events going on this year, of which your favorite metal douchebags are sponsoring one! Tuesday, [...]
I finally got around to listening to the Bronx's new self titled record (which looks like it's the next in the Panda Bear > El Guincho album cover progression) and like what I found. Some of my coworkers are dyed-in-the-wool Bronx fans — this one might push me further into their camp. MP3: The Bronx - [...]
