Entirely written by chief Brian Jonestown Massacre-ist Anton Newcombe in collaboration with co-vocalist Sarabeth Tuceck, this five-song EP is a somewhat uncharacteristically gentle BJM effort. The astral jangly feel of several tracks, particularly "Never Become Emotionally Attached to Man, Woman, Beast or Child," brings to mind a rather narcotized Byrds. It's psychedelic folk-rock that's content to drift along with a cosmic sheen, not so much determined to make an explosive breakthrough to the fifth dimension as to hover there. "Teleflows vs. Amplifaction" borders on electronic ambient music, but most of the material has a guitar base, albeit often with (as on "God Is My Girlfriend") the kind of spaced-out electronic effects that were beyond the technological reach of the Byrds back in the 1960s.
