The Bravery

I saw "The Bravery" when they gave a show in Toronto. They were the ones that close the concert after Switches and Your Vegas. It was an amazing night. Their second cd, The Sun and The Moon is brilliant. Sam Endicott rock out for the whole night. Seeing they perform live was a wonderful experience. See pics of the concert here:

A couple days after a very eventful concert night, I am prepped to write about my experience. Unfortunately, the great show the Bravery put on was overshadowed by several disappointments. The Bravery were always considered a poser hispter band. Critics either bashed them for sounding too much like the Killers or for sounding like they were copying everyone else. Not true. Take the following brand spanking new video for track "Believe," off the band's latest album The Sun And The Moon, as a testament of their greatness.

So I get an email that I've got 2 tickets to see The Bravery if I was available to go last night ... heck, yeah!!! The show was so supreme! They sound just as great in person as they do on their album ... and they're a kick to watch. I highly suggest seeing them in person if you can ... quite the fun night :)

So after a particularly difficult and sad couple of days in Phoenix, tonight I made my way to Sky Harbor Airport to head home to LA. Walking into Barry M. Goldwater Terminal 4, I was instantly enveloped in its glum brown-on-darker-brown, kokopelli-laden stylings. The whole place was deserted. It felt as if everyone else had already fled the city. Today has been quite musically destructive. Today has been a quite sad day, indeed. 1) I heard a remix of Black Horse and the Cherry Tree spun at a local bar a few months ago and haven't been able to shake it from my brain since. I tracked down the DJ from that night and, long story short, she's now the DJ at the new bar I go to, so she burned me a copy of the mix, which was an exclusive she did herself. so it's been awhile since i posted but i think i should at least share my experience with the bravery in philly. preface: i have been in love with this band since like day one, actually got my sister with terrible music taste to love them too, and play them on my radio show all the time. i had gotten tickets to see them at the troc in november and was turned down at the door because i didn't have my ID... big fiasco! and i had to miss two of their FREE shows in nyc becau... Just received an email from The Bravery's website informing me that they are doing a cover of The Smashing Pumpkins' song "Rocket" for an upcoming tribute cd. You can hear the song on their myspace page. I'm really liking it since I love both The Bravery & The Smashing Pumpkins! It's a well done cover. The tribute cd is set to be released July 10, '07, so not too far away. It's a myspace.com & Spin magazine sponsored tribute so you can hear all the songs on each contrib... MORE

I received an email from The Bravery's website telling me they've posted a few new songs on their upcoming cd that is due out in May. I didn't see a title on the email or on their site so I guess they've not decided what it is yet. Love The Bravery!
