Blog post image previewPut on your Ray-Bans, summer is just around the corner and The Black Keys are back -- this time bigger, bolder, and better than ever before. While some tracks may easily be compared to The White Stripes, The Black Keys have a deeper and more soul-searching sound that cuts to the bone of blues rock. Their 2008 album, "Attack & Release" is more ferocious than all of their previous records put together and seals their fate as a classic blues rock band suitable for barbecues, ... MORE

From the band's MySpace page/bulletin: --------------------------------------------------- The Black Keys recently played their biggest headlining show to date in Brooklyn, NY at McCarren Pool with over 4,800 fans in attendance.

This was the album I was anticipating the most for this year. I thoroughly enjoyed their work previous to this, so I had high expectations for the album. The album starts off with a slow ballad, "All You Ever Wanted," which is folky, and at the end gets into unfamiliar territory for the band (Studio additions and deep bass.) This track sets the tone for the whole album, and leads into the next track, "I Got Mine." The second track is a hard hitting blues riff, similar to... MORE

Sounds interesting. Can't wait for it to come out. Full link here- "..while in theory, the thought of a Danger Mouse-produced Black Keys record brings to mind a bunch of electronic beats and sound pastiches slapped on stripped-down garage rawk, it's a credit to Danger Mouse as a producer that he manages mostly to stay out of the way of the jams, except for a few little flourishes here and there."

Earlier in the week I had reviewed The Black Keys new album, but had doubts about them being able to reproduce the sound live. This video shows that they can do it pretty well, though it's not the best quality video.
