It was a big day yesterday for MOG, Starting with Berlin, Lou Reed’s concert film. Honestly, this was the first time I had listened to the Black Angels - I mean, who can resist an entire album stream pre-release? Here it is, if you'd like to hear it too: the "long-awaited" new Black Angels album Directions to See a Ghost: I dig the spacey psychedelic guitar sound, like a cross between Spectrum, Earth and Neurosis or something... I kind of, sort of thought that Alex Maas of the Black Angels sounded a bit like Jim Morrison, now I think he is almost imitating him.
That being said...i still really like this new record.

I'm hoping these guys put on a good show this coming Friday at Asheville's Orange Peel because I've got a ticket and what better way to celebrate the 4th with some good old fashioned rock and roll? These guys sound like a darker version of The Doors to me and I only just discovered them a couple months ago so this will be the first time I've seen them. This is a track from their latest album Directions To See A Ghost.

Just thought I'd point out to everyon tht you can, as of about a week ago, go to your finer local record store and preorder the new album by the several-kinds-of-awesome Black Angels and they will give you a little postcard wth instructions to immediately download the whole thing online a month before the physical release date. this is a band i've only known about for about a year or so, but i must admit has become one of my fav's, there easily in my top ten fav bands...and as i sit here listening to there 2nd Lp, im reminded of just how amazing music can be & the places you can go when you let yourself escape into it, and if this happens when im sober, i can just imagine how epic this disk would be if i were fucked up, lol (drug's are bad kids..)so yeah, as i was saying, if you just love music &...
