Purchased tickets for this show two months in advance. It was a long wait and so very worth it. Creature Feature played first and although I wouldn't say they suck but it's not a band I would actively follow. http://www.myspace.com/tubring">Tub Ring played next and they were a pleasant surprise. This original version of Remember Me from The Birthday Massacre features a somber ambiance, angsty lyrics and subtle vocals resigned to hopelessness. I personally prefer this version over the poppy reworked one found on 2007's Walking With Strangers.
I just downloaded itunes, and while it has had its hiccups in the past hour, I think I like it a tab bit better than windows media player. I'm all for the add-ons that Windows has added but I'm not all for the fact that everytime I it loads it slows every other program down;plus, it's just really hard to find some of my songs because of how they're bundled in windows and I don't need that hassle while trying to do coursework that I hate. The Birthday Massacre is an exciting little synthpop [synthrock?] band from London, Ontario, Canada. I'm terribly fond of their guitars and synthwork. Their first full album, Nothing & Nowhere [circa 2002], wore a permanent slot into my WinAmp playlist for months with its vibrant sounds and colorful songs.
