back in high school, i got my CPR license. it was good for two years, so now i guess i cant do it anymore. thats probably good, since all i remember is that you are suppose to punch the person in the stomach then make out with them for a couple seconds... or something like that. well at the university of illinois, they found that the beats in the bee gees hit 'stayin alive' is similar to that of the amount of chest compressions needed in order to properly perform CPR. it m... The Bee Gees 1969 album, Odessa , is set to be re-released in a 3-CD expanded edition. This is the next in the reissue series that started with the 2006 release of The Studio Albums 1967-1968 . Look for it on January 13 from Reprise.
The group's fourth major release, Odessa started out as a major thematic piece but conflicts between Robin and Barry Gibb led to the streamlining of the album down to two-LPs. The sound was experimental for the group on many of the tr... MORE

The Brothers Gibb were more of my kid sister's generation, so I wasn't as wrapped up in them as she was. Consequently, I have never heard the claim that they had in fact written a song totally for Brian. This is something that his own boys The Beatles have never been documented as admitting doing for him ~ although rumor and hearsay abound as to a few Beatles songs having been written with their hopelessly devoted manager/best friend in mind, they NEVER came right out ... When was the last time you watched Saturday Night Fever? Like two years ago on VH1, you say? It looks like you got some work to do, my friend! First of all, you should really watch Travolta's positively spiritual dance moves every couple months just to recharge your chakra or center your chi or whatever method of metaphysical recalibration you prefer. Seriously, every thrust of those skinny disco hips is like a poem from the Book of Psalms. But along with saving your soul,... MORE

Though the Bee Gees' superstardom in the mid-to-late-70s has obliterated many listeners' memories of the group's earlier work, their brilliant beginnings is here for all to hear. Lavishly packaged as three double-CD digipacks in a custom-made slip, each of the group's first three albums is presented in both mono and stereo, accompanied by a disc of related bonus tracks and a lavish 20-page booklet. That's six discs, three booklets, a wealth of terrific music and intimate b... MORE
I love this clip. Clive Anderson is well known for his irreverence and his acerbic wit and The Bee Gees - Barry Gibb in particular - don't take it very well. Hilarious.
It's quite a long clip but well worth watching it.
Pick a film clip, add your own sub-titles, sit back and laugh at your own stupidity;

This was the first tribute the Bee Gee's sang to Andy after he died.
Taken from the concert event "One Night Only".
I thought the music video was kind of scary, but the song was nice. I could see it as being one of those "just chillin" songs. Circa 1977.
So, in one of Puffmagic's posts, Kate mentioned a blog called I Am Fuel, You Are Friends.
E-I-E-I-O.
And on this blog was a performance of "To Love Somebody" by Ray LaMontagne and Damien Rice.
E-I-E-I-O.
And never have you seen two artists make singing look so utterly exhausting.
E-I-E-I-O.
So, to balance out the earnestness, may I present:
E-I-E-I-O.
