1. E-40,Yay Area." 40's been making music for more than a decade, and the people in the Yay love him, but despite his solid sales and clear influence on other rappers, you could almost call him a cult artist. Critics have mostly ignored him ... he doesn't have even one album or single listed on Acclaimed Music's critical collating site. All of this is very weird, because he is, among other things, one of the most purely enjoyable rappers to listen to. 2. Lady... MORE

For anyone who doesn't know, Cirque Du Soleil has made a new show called 'Love'. This isn't any regular show, (well, most cirque du soleil shows aren't just ANY show) this show is a tribute to The Beatles, probably one of the most known and loved bands in history. A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Las Vegas with my family, going there we knew we had to see at least one show, despite the pricey tickets. My parents basically grew up in England, so their love for the Be... MORE

I'd like to be... under the sea... in an octopus's garden in the shade. I don't know what it is about this song that completely makes everything okay. Maybe it's the fact that it invokes such a fantasy world, or maybe because of the magic behind this particular version. I don't know EXACTLY but my recommendation is that if you haven't heard the BEATLES LOVE ALBUM yet, you better get your butt out of your chair and get it. It's about 2 hours long - complete... MORE

Within You Without You /Tomorrow Never Knows [via FoxyTunes / Tomorrow Never Knows] John Lennon wrote the song in January 1966, closely adapted from the book The Psychedelic Experience by Timothy Leary, Richard Alpert, and Ralph Metzner, which they based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead with the understanding that the "Ego Death" experienced under the influence of LSD and other psychedelic drugs is essentially similar to the dying process and requires similar g... From stereogum.com
original at http://www.stereogum.com/archives/003971.htmlPaul, Ringo, Yoko, and Olivia Harrison poured over the master tapes from Abbey Road studios to create some experimental mixes of the band’s classics. Sir George Martin and Giles Martin then took over to produce the tracks, to be used during the show and released later this month as an album.

Oh man! I just got the new Beatles cd and my heart is fluttering with joy. The songs sound so perfect and put together well. I can just close my eyes and it feels like I'm right there in the studio with them.
I ran right to my computer after getting it and put it right on my iPod so I can take it with me and let all my friends listen to it.
I'd recommend anyone that loves the Beatles to buy this cd and add it to their collection, I swear it will blow all your other ... MORE

Pseudo Cyborg of Rapscallion The Ne'er-Do-Well, Erased FilesOkay. Right off the bat, I'm a huge fan of The Beatles. Hell, I even named my kittens Sgt Pepper and Billy Shears. As far as I'm concerned, they are the absolute best Rock/Pop band to have ever existed and ever will exist. Don't even bother with any "what about so-and-so"s. You won't do or say anything to convince me that I should retract that sentiment. Let me also say that I am not a fan of mash-ups. You won't convince me otherwise of that, either. There is one no... I picked up The Beatle's new Love remix album/Cirque du Soleil soundtrack just expecting it to be kind of neat, but I was completely blown away by it. I can't stop listening to it. I woke up extremely sick this morning, and just laid in bed and played through it for probably the third or fourth time already. The way the songs are remastered, the way they run together, it's like hearing these songs for the first time again. It's like I have re-rediscovered The Beatles. If I do... MORE

The Beatles: Love. I saw this album yesterday at Best Buy as I was strolling along checking out gift ideas for people. I didn't even give it a second glance because i just figured it was some regrouping of various Beatles songs under the theme of love or some such thing so that the record companies could find a way to sell more Beatles albums even though they have been broken up for more than 30 years. Well...I guess I was on sort of the right track. The album is actual... MORE

the best cd of 2006 was released today, and it was recorded 40 years ago.
how can something so familiar be made to sound so new? so fresh to the ears...im not going to lie, i got a bit emotional listening to The Beatles LOVE , a new cd produced and mashed up by george and giles martin for the cirque de soleil show in vegas.
one of the most depressing things i recognized in listening to LOVE , is that the class of 2006 pales in comparison to the work done by four l... MORE

In case you're interested, the new Beatles album "Love" will be airing in its entirety on Virgin tonight. "Love" is the soundtrack to the new Cirque du Soleii Beatles-themed show. From what I understand, it is remixes of classic Beatles tracks. Sounds interesting, so I'll be listening. It airs at 11 P.M. their time, and they're 5 hours ahead of us, so I think for most of us it'll be on at 6. Have fun!
