Blog post image preview There was a span of four weeks one summer when I was eight when all I ever listened to was "Purple Rain" by Prince & the Revolution and "Surfer Girl" by the Beach Boys. I used to lay on the carpet next to the sliding glass door and listen to those two songs ad nauseum. It was easier to be obsessed with the Prince song, as it was nearly nine minutes long and listening to it incessantly meant less time jumping up to replace the needle. But "Surfer Girl" still has its charms.... MORE
