In February, longtime California-to-Kansas post-rockers the Appleseed Cast will release their sixth studio album Sagarmatha , the first since 2006's Peregrine . We're told "Sagarmatha" is Nepalese for Mount Everest, which makes sense, considering the epic constructions of their songs. Take for example this week's Drop, "Raise The Sails." We asked singer/guitarist Christopher Crisci about its sa...
I have just recently bought the above pictured item. I own it on disc, but upon reading that it was being released on vinyl there was something nostalgic about owning this masterpiece on vinyl. (I still need a record player though...in due time, in due time) Appleseed Cast's Low Level Owl - Volume 1 and 2 are meant to be listened to as one long epic. This is a "record" in the sense of the word....
Kansas post-rockers The Appleseed Cast are back in great form with a new track released from their upcoming sixth full-length album Sagarmatha (to be released in February). The song, "Raise The Sails" features very signature Appleseed Cast characteristics such as building crescendo and a striking balance between delicate and heavy. Check out the exclusive song at [...] No related posts.
In light of their new release last month, which i haven't fully committed to yet, I have been listening to some of my favorites of the past. This brings the track "Ceremony" back into full rotation. When this album came out in 2006, I was doing volunteer work in South Africa. I had been placed in the desert in the middle of nowhere for little over a year. A buddy of mine had sent a mini mp3...
This was posted earlier in the year and i just came across itit is a preview to thier new album due out later this year.I saw thier final show of the last tour and they claimed that the new album would be all instrumental.
Heh ... So apparently by logging onto the same account from a PC at home and a Mac at work, I corrupted some of the inner workings of how Gracenote works with my account. Whoops. As for that, later on tonight I'll be deleting this account and then subsequently creating two new accounts - one for me at home on the PC, and another for me at work on the Mac. Sorry for all of the confusion this is ...
Im spending the day studying for a huge test tomorrow, and writing a resume to send out for internships. :-/ So Im looking for recommendations for a good, chill study mix to get me through what's going to be a late night. If anyone else is looking for something similar, you should check out appleseed cast's album mare vitalis. Its wonderful.
The Appleseed Cast's seventh full-length Sagarmatha is out today. The Kansas group still gets the emo tag on occasion, but at this point their sound -- largely instrumental, elegant post-rock -- exists outside Mineral references. On the new collection singer/guitarist Christopher Crisci doesn't work out his vocal chords too much; instead, we get shadowy intonations and submerged lyricism. See,...
It's blowing me away. Buy it now. No, buy it yesterday. You can't? Then build a time machine and then go buy it yesterday. If your time machine has a "week ago" setting, turn the dial to that one. Or better yet, the "year ago" setting. But it won't be out then. So, you're screwed. "Week Ago" is enough for now.
Want to help a great band play Lollapalooza/Chicago? Yeah I know, I can't make it to the actual concert either but hey, doesn't mean I don't want them to play! Please, click "here":http://www.freshtracksmusic.com/lolla2006/showartist.aspx?aid=51282&sgn=Indie+Rock to vote for The Appleseed Cast. Remember, vote with all of your e-mail addresses!
All that matters this week is that The Appleseed Cast is back with their seventh album, Sagarmatha. You've got to give a band credit for being together for 11 years! But it wouldn't be too fair if we laid all of the attention on them, even if we have been listening to them since Mare Vitalis struck us nine years ago. There's lots of other great artists out this week, including the forgotten Fatb...
Well, it looks like The Appleseed Cast are in the final four! YAY! After looking like they weren't gonna make it due to lack of votes, officals discovered that the integrity of the votes had been compromised, giving bands FAR more votes than they actually had. When the dust settled, cheaters were gone and four bands were left: "Everybody Else":http://www.freshtracksmusic.com/lolla2006/showartis...
On a day that feels frighteningly a lot like fall I am digging _The Appleseed Cast_ never thought of Emo as a good productivity booster, but today it has done the trick. Not sure if can manage to write a longer sentence like that again. Enjoy your weekend peoples.JAU
this album is coming up on it's ten year anniversary but the music refuses to be dated, a very rare condition for music of that time. it sounds good enough to be included on any shelf from early eighties noise rock through today's post-emo garage resurrection. it is an incredible and complete album with desperate vocals and a balance of shifting guitar moods, mostly sliding somewhere between he...
