I have forgotten how absolutely enlightening and splendid it is to swap music these days. I'm usually the one eager to recommend artists, searching through the doldrums of the internet to find unique music, forgetting that it'd be nice to hear some in return.
And it is.
Absolutely astounding when you come across a nice mix of music from someone that literally changes your world - instills a different emotional understanding of what is surrounding you.
One song in partic... MORE

If you need to get homework done or if you're doing anything menial like dishes or laundry, put on some Album Leaf and I swear it just flies by.

Jimmy Lavelle is the "Album Leaf" and as a San Diego band I thought I should post some of their stuff.
Lavelle has worked with tons of different musicians. His music is really unique and if you like electronic music you might love the "Album Leaf"... MORE

It's been soo long since I came on here.
Well anyways, the newest trend in my circle of friends is Explosions in the Sky-esque music. Anyways I want to dazzle them with my instumental indie-rock bands. Suggestions? Thanks! Oh one more thing, freak folk. I like. Share!! I sound crazy....but thank you for any music knowledge.... MORE

... it's so beautiful.
I know it's not new news anymore, but it can't hurt to mention again.
This album the the perfect watch-the-summer-sun-dip-just-below-the-horizon soundtrack.

WOW . Where have these guys been all my life. I just found their music and love it to death.
Some people say that this music puts them to sleep. Comments on that, please, because I completely disagree.
Well, it is easy to sleep to their music. Anyways, my props to The Album Leaf. :)... MORE

I remember hearing the band’s first album and not being too impressed. Into The Blue Again changes my feeling, though.

It all started when Kristofer Astrom posted A Weather. I thought maybe I could Google them since I am in love with the song he posted (One More One Night Stand), but the search was fruitless. Because Kristofer, I am stuck on that song now, thanks. :) Anyway, since people usually start this post with a song that is stuck in their minds, I will follow suit. It also helps that I am going to see them later this week. I have to thank a dear friend for the introduction though,... MORE

I understand that I have had some random posts in the past, so here's another one to keep you guessing. I just went through a breakup, I mean how many chances can you give a person and they still ask for more. I've given enough so I stopped. I laid it all out and wasn't given anything in return, those are not the grounds for a relationship. Unsteady, faulted, they were trampled from the start. I hate when it happens, and I hate how it happens. I just throw prayers away ... MORE

As much as the internet expands our horizons, I believe it can also contract our knowledge, or at least the knowledge between our ears. By this, I mean that because I know that a few typed words and a click or five can find the answer to just about anything I may want to know, there are times when I'm inclined not to look things up because I don't feel the need to fill my head with the 411. Somewhat akin to the legend of how Albert Einstein couldn't be bothered to know h... MORE

"NEW DELHI (AFP) - Tibet's exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama extolled the virtues of music as a way to bring peace as he opened a three-day festival here of chants from the world's different religions. Greeting the crowd of 2,000 gathered at a New Delhi park, the 68-year-old Buddhist monk said such performances of sacred music "are useful ways to promote positive qualities." "I believe that music and sound have a particular ability to affect the mind positive... MORE

A couple of nights ago I was privileged to experience one of the better shows I've been to in quite a little while. Lymbyc System and Dirty on Purpose opened for The Album Leaf at the WOW Hall - a relatively small (but excellent) venue. The Lymbyc System has only two members - a drummer and the guy who does everything else (mostly on keyboards, samplers, and things). They really had it. Whatever 'it' is, they must've had it. Inkeeping with the mood of the show, the... MORE

Hello to all MOGGERS ! This is my first post here. I'm very happy to be a part on this great comunity and hope that we all can share our tastes in music and discover new artist thru our relationship. Well, but lets talk about music!!! As my first post I'd like to talk about an album that has been recent released and that has been in my player ever since. INTO THE BLUE AGAIN by The Album Leaf. This is the 4th LP that Jimmy LaValle released under the name of T... MORE

I had a bit of a 'High Fidelity' moment this week. I was at a record store, and asked the clerk what was playing on the stereo at the time. He sort of rolled his eyes and looked at the jewel case and said, as if I were the uncoolest person alive, "Uh, The Album Leaf". Now, a record store isn't a weird place to hear new music, but the timing of me being there at the time they played it, and me being in a receptive mood for their style, is random. My point is, being able t... MORE
