It's a bloody slagging review .. have a look at the reply and the review below. here's another video of thiers that I like taken out on a boat. Love the acoustic style of this band and the various string intruments they play. Also a clip of the bands inteview with the Daily Fix. Dear Ian,

Today's (controlled yet) screamy vocals were brought to my ipod courtesy of KCRW's Top Tune which was brought to them courtesy of the vocal chords belonging to Mikel Jollet, lead singer of The Airborne Toxic Event. Wow. What a horrible venue. The Grand Ballroom at The Regency is one of the most obnoxious, awful places to see music that I have ever had the unfortunate luck of having to visit. My woes began when I went up to the bar and asked where I could find some water. The bartender said, "That’ll be...

Yesterday, Pitchfork reviewed the debut cd from The Airborne Toxic Event - an LA band that has generated major buzz across the country. The album received a 1.6 from critic Ian Cohen who writes:
In a way, The Airborne Toxic Event is something of a landmark record: This represents a tipping point where you almost wish Funeral or Turn on the Bright Lights or Is This It? never happened as long as it spared you from horrible imitations like this one, often sounding more inspi... MORE

I would suggest that you play this very, VERY loud! Especially for this part: But you were always a mess
You were always aloof
Yeah, it's awful, I guess
But it's the awful truth God bless my favorite musicians for being able to turn their angst into such life affirming art!

Ah, I love it. I got a simple, unassuming email today with the header, “An Open Letter to Pitchfork from Airborne Toxic Event”. I smiled immediately knowing exactly what the email would contain; another ridiculously harsh review and a very well thought out, subtlely sarcastic response back from the band. SOUND Team went the more [...]
