FINALLY we have a date for the excruciatingly long-awaited new Faint album. I got an email from the website today announcing that the big date for Fasciinatiion is the 5th of August, woohoo! Also, surprisingly, the band have split from Saddle Creek records and are releasing the album on their own label, Blank Wav. According to Pitchfork, the guys wrote, recorded, produced, art directed and released entirely on their own. Impressive! The album has been long in the mak... MORE
So tomorrow's the big day, I'm headed down to see The Faint in Philly. Their new album is pretty bangin' and I can't wait to see them live. It's going to be a good time. In celebration of this event, I'm going to share some Faint songs with you, and maybe I'll see you there?

It's been a long time since Omaha NE Synth-Punkers, the Faint, released a new album. Four years to be exact. Four years to develop hunger pangs for anything new The Faint might release, be it remixes or b-sides. Snacks of sound that us rabid fans pick up with a starving ferocity. But finally, The Faint have released a new album for those of us salivating for new material to feed on; "Fasciinatiion". This time around, it has been prepared entirely in house. Now inde... MORE

The long, long, LONG awaited new Faint album seems to be on its way at long last. Their website (www.thefaint.com) has got that lovely heading 'New Site Coming' which is almost synonymous with 'New Album Coming'.
They've been working on this album for ages, or so it seems. I can't wait for the 'big date' to be announced. I officially love 2008. woo!

Once again, this Saturday (May 19, 10pm EST) The Circuit from Y-Rock on XPN has tickets for you to win to the next Making Time party, next Friday, May 25 at Pure nightclub here in Philly. But the flyer below (and the click-through!) immediately lets you know why the next Making Time is no ordinary one. Check out my beats and beeps tomorrow, and stay tuned to win online and on 88.5 HD-2!
Got to see The Faint tonight up at Western. Sped directly up there after work, since I heard that either doors opened at 8 or the show started at 8. Both proved to be false. A lot of confuse ensued about which line was for will call, for buying tickets, and if you already had tickets in hand. Around 9:45 doors finally opened AND I managed to score a free ticket! The first two bands were locals. First band was good (Ten Killing Hands) and the second band would've been decen... MORE
This is the video they use live while playing the song.
Slighty disturbing...
Cross dressinggggggggggggg...
The Faint's newest release "The Geeks Were Right" contains everything we've come to expect from them, squeaky analogue bass, menacing spindly guitars, and of course the playfully nightmarish lyrics and vocals of Todd Fink filtered through various effects. Their new album "Fasciinatiion" is definitely my most anticipated release of this year. Now the question is... see them in NYC or Philly?
