you like alliterative themed days, do you? i'll slap you silly with not one but three. i hope it leaves a mark. album #3, aka 0898, by The Beautiful South takes the first beating. released in '92 out of GO! There was a time when I sought out everything by The Beautiful South. Now, I rarely listen to them anymore. I recently dug out their CD "Choke", and I must say that it still brings a smile to my face.

any true tragedian would know about the passing of moments. an intense fit of indignation would, at times, make us wish far more than just to scream bloody murder. however, coming down from high dudgeon, we become aware easily that the once-raw moment takes a turn not only on the uneventful but comedic. today i am laughing out loud at, and finding hilarious, something that once made me want genuinely to poison somebody's dinner. The band that came out of the ashes of The Housemartins, The Beautiful South, according to the band in their own version of musical irony, issued a statement saying "The Beautiful South have split up due to musical similarities. The band would like to thank everyone for their 19 wonderful years in music." I had been a fan of The Housemartins and later The Beautiful South.
