All Music GuideTangerine Dream were on a definite path toward shorter pieces by 1982 as their soundtrack work began to pick up, but they still liked to instill some elements of chance into their concerts, improving around themes (here taking on some local color with "Ayers Majestic" and "Bondy Parade"). Add known tracks like "Force Majeure" and the recent "White Eagle," plus a fair bit of room for freedom, and you had a band on the cusp. The lengthy "Mojave Plan" and "Thermal Inversion" both conjure up memories of Dream past with their shifting moods and some tasty guitar, only to fall back on the newer standard to close things out, as if they'd decided to say goodbye to history and embark on the future.
