Actually I can't say this track qualifies as 'fonkay' but certainly in relation to the rest of the release it is pretty funky. As a result of hours in the car and on the road of late, I've been going through full albums instead of just mixes and I finally heard this track on Return to Cookie Mountain. I really like this album, all sorts of great production and arrangements and the lead singer gets into all sorts of voices, including early Ozzie-esque moments. Anyway this o... MORE

In less than two years this decade will be over. It's hard to believe, as most of us still haven't decided what to call it (the "oughts", the "naughties"?) let alone get a grip on what it means. It's been a blur of stolen elections, downspiraling economies, mounting debt, and a paranoid entertainment industry relentlessly jerking their customers around. Despite all the BS, some people still managed to release some good albums. The era of blockbusters are over, because the ind... MORE

"Ha Ha Ha Ha. Yeah probably."
Don't ya just know it. ;) I finally got around to getting an album by TV On The Radio. Wow.
After listening to this song, I hit repeat, repeatedly. I enjoyed this video too... I could go on about how I feel about them so far, but Emit pretty much summed up my feelings and reactions in a previous post. He's good like that. http://mog.com/emit/blog_post/75565... MORE

Back in the summer of 2001 a little movie hit the theaters called Jump Tomorrow . It was about a shy guy who is about to be married off in an arranged marriage, except he doesn't love his soon to be wife he loves another girl from his office, and she doesn't know it.
The main character, George, is played by Tunde Adebimpe. If that sounds familiar to you it's because Tunde is now the lead singer for TV On The Radio. If you're into independent/quirky cinema then I sugges... MORE

I go from one of my worst to one of my better ones... I do like the way this one turned out... (although some people thought it was a bit creepy, I was going for a sense of wonder and mystery... works for me.)

TV on the Radio don't need people like me telling people like you how cool they are. TV on the Radio, like 'em or not, are cool. The concert this poster was for, featured one of the greatest openings of any show I've seen... spine-tingling music to play u... MORE

Last week, hipsters, economists, artists, humanists alike gathered, slurped sweet concoctions, and raved at SFOTE 's fundraiser at New York's sleek Tribeca Grand Hotel. Though I am always skeptical of these type of charity events held in luxury venues (Whatever happened to bake sales? A hipster street bake sale (w. drums and breakdancing on the street) would be far cooler and far less pretentious), when I heard TV on the Radio was performing, I hightailed it there. In front... Awesome band. I understand not everyone "gets" them, but if you haven't taken a listen, you should. You might just be amazed or at least a smidge smitten.
GO! GO! GO! see this band live if you have the chance.
This video is pretty cool. Live "Young Liars". Takes a minute to get movin' but it's of fairly decent quality. Bit o' backstage shooting of "The Wrong Way" at the end too.
Here's a totally rad interview w/ Tunde Adebimpe, from some festival... MORE

You probably can't tell from where you sit in front of your monitor, but I am in a tailspin with how much great news there is to post about today! If I were a cephalopod, I could type up 4 stories at once, but instead I have 2 eyes and 2 ears and 2 hands. Why in the world would androids want to become human?
The latest great tidbit comes from the fantabulous TV on the Radio. They have announced that there is now a TVotR Live iTunes Session available from, of co... MORE

Here is a fun song from the TV on The Radio ep, Young Liars. It is called Satellite. I never paid much attention to this ep much until just recently. This is one of those "IPOD on random - what the heck was that?" songs. This is a fun ep worth owning. It is grounded with one of the more easy to latch onto songs from "Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes" called "Staring at the Sun." Another song that is full of layers of sound is the the title track, "Young Liars". They also ... MORE

It sounds like maybe the guys in TV On The Radio recorded this in a hotel bathroom, but good golly god damn is it a catchy song. I'm really excited that Adult Swim decided to release a free Album of really top notch Indie Rock, and this new track is def. a new favorite of mine. I love the chaotic piano and the Trasient-esque Harmonica/La La La's. The ending speak verse is just straight poetic. "I said mama I just, I just...." This is a Choice Song.... MORE
