If you happened to miss their stop off at NYC, Sunny Day Real Estate did a few other things while they were in the city. One of them happened to be a stop by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon where they performed their song “Seven” for the late night crowd. I’ve said it before, I’ll [...]
Sunny Day Real Estate kicked off their reunion tour with a secret show at Hell’s Kitchen in Tacoma Washington. Thankfully the bowels of the internet have coughed up some clips of the performance. Bazinga! The entire set was recorded Victory!
The two albums which made a name for pioneering emotional hardcore band Sunny Day Real Estate are getting the re-issue treatment in the U. K. After more than ten years apart, all four members will also be reuniting for a 20-date tour of the United States.
In my head, I know better than to be so excited about the news that Sunny Day Real Estate is reuniting for a 20-date tour, which includes a stop at Marquee Theatre in Tempe on Oct. 9. It couldn’t ever mean the same as it did 10-plus years ago, but wistful nostalgia wins out every [...]

Although grunge rock may have put Seattle on the music map back in the 90s, it was also, arguably, the birthplace of emo. Signed to Sub Pop Records, Sunny Day Real Estate was clearly influenced by their grunge label-mates—but their sound was something new. They took this distinctly Seattle sound and blended it with the post-hardcore, or emocore, vocals from the Washington D.C. scene. Sunny Day
With only a few days left on their nationwide tour supporting the re-release of Diary and LP2, Sunny Day Real Estate descended on the Fillmore last night with epic force. Opening the show was the [also] reunited Jealous Sound who played with as much passion and grandeur as a I remembered when they opened for [...]
I never saw this one before. I can not believe that I grew up with such an awesome band. I can remember sitting in my bedroom ten years ago listening to them! I want to thank Keith Goodwin from Days Away (being this little 14 year old boy) for getting me in to them.
For the longest time I thought Sunny Day Real Estate was how rock music was supposed to sound. I patterned my early songwriting off of what I felt was their intent. This band, along with Smashing Pumpkins, are one of the very few that I can say I was ever drunk on. I ate up every note of everything that the did.So what happened to them?Personal take, they stopped rocking. I don't want to sound

He felt that since the band's outlook on the world saw that every possible thing was becoming a commodity to be bought and sold, it was possible that one day, people would even start selling sunny days. Two other popular stories are that the band'...
The first time I heard Sunny Day Real Estate was on the Batman Forever soundtrack (see: Soundtracks That Are Way, Way Better Than the Movie, Vol. 1). I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that the band was fronted by a woman on first listen, I mean, Jeremy Enigk has one of the most androgynous voices in the history of recorded music since Tracy Chapman. Also Brian Molko (sorry Anna).Anyway, I can'...
i was 18, working at a large electronics store chain. a co-worker of mine pulled me aside and told me that he had an album for me to hear. the cover depicted a couple of those figures for little kids with no arms or legs - you know, the ones that are cylindrical, a solid color, and are generally bald or have a curly q painted on the top of their heads. no words, front or back, except for the ...
