I've been digging the music that Mark Kozelek has made (on his own, leading the Red House Painters and fronting Sun Kil Moon) since I first heard the Red House Painters live at a small club in San Francisco in 1991.
The latest Sun Kil Moon album, April, is excellent. Here's a song off it.
Sun Kil Moon just announced their follow-up to Ghosts of the Great Highway will be released on April Fool's Day 2008. The new album is titled April and will be released on Mark Kozelek's own Caldo Verde label. I just found radical piece of software called AirFoil that gets rid of the obscenely offensive restriction of allowing only iTunes to access your AirPort. AirFoil allows your wireless speakers to play sounds from any application on your computer!!! I have been blasting tunes all day long. I am in fact bored on a Friday night in the heart of Hollywood. But it is a sort of self induced boredom.
