For some reason, Stone Temple Pilots never make it on the list of ‘my bands’. Why is that? I pretty much know every word to every song. I go see Weiland or the DeLeo brothers anytime they are near. What’s the deal?I can distinctly remember seeing the video for ‘Plush’ in [...]

I've seen STP a few times now, last year Weiland seemed pretty bored, but when he shows up, like he did Wednesday night, he is one of the last true frontmen in rock today. Great setlist, great performance, dead crowd, which all adds up to a great time for me since I got as close as I wanted to be. Superman Silvergun, Big Empty, 7 Caged Tigers and Dead and Bloated were the highlights for me, but...
Everyone knows that you have to kiss a lot of ass to get what you want. Rick Florino from Artist Direct got Scott Weiland to talk about Stone Temple Pilots's new album, Scott's solo album "Happy in Galoshes" and STP's upcoming St. Jude Rock N Roll Show. He also kissed ...

I Wasn't expecting much for the STP show, I liked them back in the day, but the whole junkie thing really turned me off. I did however have a free pass to the festival so might as well check everything out. I have to say the show was good...not great, but good. One of the loudest shows at the festival this year. They played all the hits, and thankfully didn't play any new stuff which they said ...
We got there as soon as the gates opened and with pit tickts we made it to the front immediately and took our place front and center at the rail. I was able to grab one beer on the way and still secure a spot right at the front. The opening act was called Tab the band. I had never heard of them before but they have a CD out and played a pretty respectable 5 song set. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club...
It was good to see the complete show after Charlotte's "shortened"set list last weekend due to coming on late and the city's curfew for outdoor venues. These guys really rocked!
--- - |- When Axl and I went to see the reunited Stone Temple Pilots in New Jersey a couple of months ago, it was nothing short of very disappointing. A wasted Weiland stumbled around the stage all night, mumbled incoherent between-song banter, flubbed lyrics, and generally looked like a mess. The performance was completely lackluster, and Weiland [...] ~~- Stone Temple Pilots

Well, it's been a bit since this transpired, but I figure I'll share anyway. May in Indianapolis can only really mean one thing. It's time for the Indy 500 again. Every year, the track hosts a concert for Carb Day. Usually, it's Kid Rock or some nu metal band that really doesn't do much for me. This year was different though. Stone Temple Pilots were headlining the concert, and I thought ...
