AMG Review of Sex Sells

All Music GuideStiffed's Santi White prances like Gwen Stefani and growls like Chrissie Hynde on her band's official debut release, Sex Sells. This EP is a brash mix of post-punk aesthetic and kitschy /p>
ew wave bits, and Stiffed gives it to you good with a sucker punch. From the twitchy basslines of "Everybody's Got It" to the gnarling ock romp of "He Looks Good," Stiffed struts with a quirky appeal. They're melodically raw on the punk-pop party of "Yes," but "What You Gon' Do" highlights White's infectious stance as a frontwoman. She's raw, but unafraid to say what's on her mind. If that means she's disappointed with her boy toy of the moment, so be it. Sex Sells screams "Girl Power!" without stereotypical connotations floating in from both sides. It's pure ock & roll and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!
