I think this is very cool. The Musicians Institute just awarded Steve Vai an honorary doctorate for his contribution to the music world. Later this month, Steve will release a new DVD called Where the Wild Things Are. I've had the DVD on my radar for awhile now, and I plan on picking it up when it comes out. Guitar-work That Makes You Go OMFG!!

He is the best I've ever heard. He makes a guitar sound like it is actually "feeling" emotion. In his hands, a guitar is a living creature. If you asked the very best young guitarists who was the major influence on their playing....80 or 90% would name him. Details another time, but if you haven't before....meet Steve Vai. He is playing his song, "For the Love of God"
