My last post attempt got erased due to an inadvertent browser backtracking attempt. Even so, I felt this commentary was interesting enough to rewrite - in shorter form of course (because of course I was this close to posting it when I lost it ---> i i). I'd like to pose the question of band reunions - when is timing essential for a band to reform? Can you come back after being away for only 5 years? Should it be more like 10 or 15 years? It seems as if money is a... MORE
Post my declaration to explore my MOG I would like to say that this thing is getting better. I made my first purchase the other day at JB based on my MOG exploring. I had never heard of STARS and most likely would never have come across them if it was not for the click here, read there exploring this thing has on offer. And I have to say I am stoked with my purchases: set your self on fire and in the bedroom after the war really have won me over. Sooooooo in essence I ... MORE
Torquil has imagined many scenarios of how it would go down if he kicked it with Bush.

For me there often comes a moment, usually a few hours before dawn, that I just want to die. Melodramatic, yes, but hear me out: the night is interminable, the morning will never come, the world is devoid of hope, and I've squandered another day. Like the idea of a "sad robot", this is a time of contradiction, as it is only at four in the morning that the day really feels twenty four hours long, twenty four hours short. There... MORE

It's already starting to get cold - this is all happening so soon! But winter means a new wardrobe, so I guess there's a plus to everything. Not a ton of new music, but whatevs, I can deal.

This was going to be my first time seeing Stars and the anticipation was wearing me out. Seriously, all day at work all I could think about were all the Amy Millan and Torquil Campbell duets I was going to hear that night. It's pretty safe to say that I wasn't going to be disappointed. The only concern of the night was WHERE THE HECK I WAS GOING TO FIND PARKING??? Snagged a spot about 6 blocks away and headed towards Bimbo's. The night was unusually warm for SF this ... MORE

Truer words were never spoken. I can't tell you all how liberated I feel. Knowing that in like 2 months I am taking the first real risk of my life. It took me so long to get over the fear of other people's perceptions. I spent far too many years trying to fit into some sort of model that wasn't me. A business casual job, relationshiops that I knew wouldn't make me happy, but I stayed in regardless. Man, it took so long...but once you let go of the fear, and just embrace w... MORE
