All Music GuideStan Kenton added three Latin percussionists to his 18-piece orchestra for this upbeat program. Gene Roland wrote all of the arrangements and composed each of the Latin-flavored tunes, except for "Adios" and "Artistry in Rhythm." Altoist Charlie Mariano, trombonist Don Sebesky, and trumpeter Rolf Ericson are among the soloists, and the results, as heard on this LP from the Creative World catalog, are potentially gimmicky but surprisingly successful.
