Since I've visited this site, that is. I haven't been to many shows lately, but ended up seeing Nada Surf in San Diego this past March, which was quite an adventure. The next band on my list to see is Squeeze. Now, let me tell you about Squeeze.. I grew up a youngster in the 80s with MTV in my face. I was a toe-tapping toddler (how's that for alliteration?). So at my job, I sell tickets. When I make a reservation, I take the customer's address and phone number. One day, several years ago, I took a reservation for a woman whose phone number happened to be 853-5937. On this particular day, the little voice in my head that stops me from saying stupid things must have gone out for coffee, because suddenly I was telling the woman, "Hey! There's not a lot of Squeeze on Mog. Like others, I've never been what you'd call a fan. But I've always quite liked them. Not sure why people are so lukewarm about them. But I guess they are quite low key and generally un-popstar-ish,Squeeze were 'local' and when I was 18 they were everywhere. In the park, in the pub, in the thrift shop.
