It seems that putting a piece of the 1995 Hum song 'Stars' in a Cadillac commercial could be starting a trend of cool music in car ads. (Although, Grey's Anatomy star Kate Walsh deserves her share of credit for that one's success). Now Acura has a similar sexy, big city style ad featuring the 2005 Spoon song "My Mathematical Mind." Both great bands. It's nice to see artists like these getting paid. P.S. Long live Hum. Look them up.... MORE

listening to old spoon songs. well not that old. girls can tell album. i really loved this album when it first came out and every once in a while i find myself listening to it. lines in the suit is one of my favorite spoon songs.

so i missed the mars volta last night. i also missed motion city soundtrack and phantom planet. i hope that radiohead is worth missing both of those shows because thats pretty much the only reason im saving my money. eisley was awesome last week. im going to see them again in dallas next month. they put on a great show. and vedera was amazing as always. they will be in dallas too.... Following their current European tour Spoon will tour the US with the Walkmen. Before the jaunt the Walkmen will finish up the southern portion of their own little US trek. Joining Spoon and the Walkmen as opener will be Brooklyn -based outfit White Rabbits. The tour kicks off April 2nd in Kansas City, KS.

On April 8th Spoon will release the 8-track EP "Don't You Evah," based on the track from the band's 2007 release Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. "Don't You Evah," a track originally recorded by the Natural History (they called it "Don't You Ever") will be featured in five different remixes on the album, in addition to the original Natural History version, and spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga ga version.

The last concert I attended was also the first of 2008... depending on how you look at it. I rang in the New Year with Spoon! All thanks to email lists and UR Chicago! "Come let your socks fall down to your shoes". I just heard the podcast from the guys at Sound Opinions interviewing Spoon and what a fun interview it was. I love the lead singer's voice and the tambourine was terrific on the song Rhythm and Soul! Totally fun. Any song that sneaks the word "potholders" into it's lyrics has to be fun. Fun, fun, fun....
