The new pressing will come in two slightly different formats: (1) a “Collector's Edition,” utilizing 12 mini-CDs, and (2) a “Sp

Jason Pierce and Co are set to play a one off gig this year where they will play their classic 1997 album 'Ladies And Gentlemen We Floating In Space' in it's entirety. The concert is part of the Don't Look Back concert series and will take place at the Royal Festival Hall on October 12th.
It's been a while since we've seen Jason Pierce on these shores. Apart from the odd show in Australia and Tokyo, the band have mostly kept their heads down this year. Pierce and whoever is a part of Spiritualized right now (it's hard to keep track) lined up at ATP in engaging mood.

It took almost a week of listening to Songs in A&E to feel comfortable reviewing it. There is a presence apparent in Jason Pierce's delivery that made this album feel too meaningful to absorb completely on the first indulged listens. After 6 or 7 spins, I was happy to learn that the name of the group does not mislead the listener whatsoever. Spiritualized delivers a sound seemingly larger than ...
The critical consensus on J. Spacemen aka Jason Pierce aka Spiritualized, is that he reached his creative peak around 1997, with the symphonic space rock blues opus in pharmaceutical blister packaging, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space. It's been an eleven long years since then, five years since Spiritualized's last album and nearly [...] No related posts.
[09-15-2008] When listening to the music of Jason Pierce, the British songwriter behind Spiritualized, his moniker could be considered in two ways: spiritualized by the cosmic interstellar rock and spiritualized by the ghost of the Holy Spirit. But in this case, it is used as one entity, space rock combined with gospel, a Wall of Sound against the thrumming of the sounds of church. It is spirit...
--- - |- Hey, this stage set-up looks familiar, and the song's getting around as well. Here's Jason Pierce bringing the epic, gospel-infused rock of Spiritualized to Letterman. (via Stereogum) [from Songs in A&E; out now on Fontana/Spaceman/Universal] ~~- Spiritualized
I've got all these thoughts swirling around in my head, ever since I wrote about not being so hard on yourself. I keep thinking about forgiveness. About how hard it is to forgive yourself and how hard it is to ask for someone else's forgiveness when you really and truly don't deserve it. I'm also obsessively listening to one song, "Borrowed Your Gun" by Spiritualized. It starts off ki...
--- - |- Either someone is cheating death, or the camera is lying-- regardless, it's a fitting theme for the video of "You Lie, You Cheat", the B-side to second single "Sweet Talk" from Spiritualized's Songs in A&E. Director Jake Chapman's entire clip is shot in a sped-up first person steadycam, and takes the viewer through a series of city buildings, racing up staircase after staircase, and l...

Though I enjoy the minimal, droning, shoegaze thunder of Spacemen 3, what I've heard of former member Jason (Spaceman) Pierce's Spirtualized, most of it being orchestral and mellow, hasn't really appealed to me.I found out they were playing the Late Show with David Letterman last night, so, taking into consideration all the positive reviews for this year's Songs in A & E and my appreciation for...
