A Smashing Pumpkins reunion with the band's original line-up is not looking good, folks. (Sorry Gish fans). Yesterday former and founding members of the alternative rock band -- James Iha and D'Arcy Wretzky-Brown -- slapped Virgin Records with a lawsuit, claiming they were overlooked in royalties for music downloads and other digital media (I'm thinking ringtones and etc). They are demanding a jury trial for issues regarding breach of contract, breach of implied coven... MORE

While they fight for artistic integrity and fall more and more into 1990's obscurity, the Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they will be heading out on a intimate August run and a not so intimate 20th Anniversary tour in November. The tours will sort of serve as a warm-up to that Gish tour everyone has been hoping for, which has now been pushed back to early 2009.
While the intimate August run "will be for fun" according to the band, November's shows will hit larger v... MORE

*Taken from www.partylikesteve.com... The night of August 16th 2008 will always be remembered as the day the music died for me. It is no mystery that I had been waiting to see the Smashing Pumpkins since I was the ripe age of 12. Through the miracle that is my job, I was able to not only see The Pumpkins on August 16th in Charlottesville, Virginia, but I was also able to float backstage and hear the band interact. The first words I hear as I walk backstage is "Bill... MORE
now that batmanania is now behind us (and it was awesome!) we can finally start looking forward to the next highly anticipated comic book adapt. of course id be speaking of 'watchmen.' i could tell that the song in the trailer was by smashing pumpkins (or something billy corgan related) but never had heard it before. turns out it was released as a single for the 1997 batman flick (you know, the one with george clooney [you know, the one that sucked]). well, at leas... I'm surprised I don't see The Garage come up in Google! At it's peak there were 3 or 4 nightclubs operating in this huge warehouse in Denver. 23 Parrish was a pirate themed dance club with lots of areas to lounge, hang out, shoot pool. The Garage was the live music venue. I think my last visit to the Garage was on the night that the first Lollapalooza tour careened into town. Perry Ferrell was throwing a party at the garage and introducing a new band (you might have h... MORE

I really don't have a lot to say here, other than I'm amazed that nobody has ever posted this song. Smashing Pumpkins' best song, by far, if for nothing else, than for the, as Jack Black would put it, the 'face-melting' solo beginning at 3:09.
I did not forget about this project, did you?
Oh D'Arcy, you crazy chick...I never believed a word Billy said about you until January Y2K...
