In discussions of RocknRoll's beginnings, first recordings an' such, **Sister Rosetta Tharpe's** name rarely pops up. Odd, huh? This lady was a guitarist and singer/songwriter of considerable talent who's music blended the testifying vocal phrasing of "sanctified" or Gospel music with the excited and exciting rhythms of Boogie-Woogie in the thirties & forties.
