"The Double Life" is taken from the album "The Rapture", which was the groups last studio album before breaking up. Siouxsie continued with Budgie in "The Creatures", and Steven Severin went solo. Now, Siouxsie and Budgie has gone different ways, and Siouxsie has released her first solo album ever! (Mantaray).
While channel surfing late one night this past weekend(curse of an insomniac) I stopped to watch a few minutes of Sofia Coppola's take on Marie Antoinette. One of the sequences in the 18th century palace featured this song. And since Siouxsie has just released a solo record and will be touring soon, I figure I'd give her props today:

I remembered that I loved them today when I was cranky. How could it have taken me this long to pay homage. When ever I'm moody this is what I listen to, along with Joy Division,& Fiona Apple. The first time I heard a Siouxsie song, I was baby sitting for a neighbor. When she got home she said "you got to hear this". So she slapped Peepshow, on the turn table, cranked it up, and we listened in ...
Good quality live recordings of Siouxsie and The Banshees appear to be a bit thin on the ground, which is surprising considering they have toured regularly down the years and the whole punk & new wave scene in the early days was hardly water tight against bootlegging. So for one of my favorite bands that came out of the original punk music scene, on this occasion I will have to settle for a pret...
Much of Siouxsie & The Banshees' discography predated my discovery of music outside the boundaries of Top 40 pop. But by the time the band released its 10th album, 1991's Superstition, I was ready to take a peek into the dark side.Produced by Stephen Hauge (OMD, New Order, Pet Shop Boys), the album had a poppier, more dance-oriented sound, a departure for the British goth rockers, who'd gotten ...

I finally bit the bullet and purchased the SatB box set Downside up. It's a four cd collection of B-sides and rarities and a big fat booklet. No more listening to those ancient worn 12"s! I am just giddy! Nice way to round out my Monday.
