Just purchased my pass. As usual, am only familiar with a few of the bands, so I will be coming to you guys to help me map out wich bands I catch. Then, of course, when the time comes, drinking too much and partying too late will cause me to miss half the bands I intend to catch. :)Anywayz, currently, the line-up looks something like this: Depeche Mode Tool [R] The Killers [R] Jane's Addict...
Waking up in the right mood is important. Today, I went downstairs to check my email, and after turning on my computer, I sat down on my couch. I sat on the t.v. remote and the tv just turned on. As the picture came into focus, this video was just starting, and I loved every moment of it. I almost saw it as a tribute to Anna's post about concert flirting, and whats even better its the first tim...
Can't get enough of the Silversun Pickup's power ballard "Lazy Eye"? Well, the California-rockers gathered up a few remixes for their breakthrough hit and are now putting out as an EP on iTunes. Among those contributing to the Silversun Pickup's aptly-titled Remixes EP are the Postal Service's Jimmy Tamborello, KCRW DJ Jason Bentley, Beck keyboardist Brian Lebarton and LA-based composer/songwri...
Los Angeles rockers, Silversun Pickups are an example of the typical indie success story. In the vein of groups such as Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse and more recently the Arcade Fire, they have been able to break into the mainstream, successfully. But don't take my word for it, let's look at the numbers. As of April 4th, the album Carnavas (Dangerbird) has sold 113,276 copies. Reaching the 8...
Courtesy of "KCRW":http://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/ a nifty little podcast that sends songs to your pod daily (if you want). Some are goodies like this one from Silversun Pickups (sounding a bit Smashing Pumpkinesque IMO). Happy Friday!
I wanted to post this earlier today, but we were so busy at work I didn't have a chance. Hopefully I can retain some of the passion I felt at the time this event occured...During my lunch I popped in my headphones and started listening to Silversun Pickup's "Lazy Eye" as I walked out of the bank where I work and into the grocery store we are located in. What happened was amazing to me. I couldn...
So I know I saw Silversun Pickups on someones profile somewhere, it was probably a random mogshot, and I thought "Hey, that's kind of a cool name" and it just kind of stuck with me. Well, as it turns out, they've been playing Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye on my favorite radio station Live105.This song is fantastic. Listen to it. You'll like it.Also, Live105 is great. You can listen to their ...
http://www.mtvu.com/music/video_premiere/silversun_pickups/New vid for Silversun Pickups' "Lazy Eye". I totally kissed the girl that's to the right of the main girl. Haha, my link to fame.
Silversun Pickups This LA Indie rock band successfully melds crunching guitars with amazingly melodic songs in the grand tradition of The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine. Their full length debut, Carnavas features infectious tracks like Melatonin, Little Lover's So Polite and the single Lazy Eye which was recently featured on The OC. The band is currently on tour with ...
Im on the brink of liking this band. I listen to them an I say yeah those guys are great and then I take another listen and I am not positive. I like their sound and the guitar parts are pretty cool. What do you guys think? Im curious to know if anybody loves this band or are you like me on the edge .
Ok, so they were on Carson Daly Live. Weak, I know. But don't let that get in the way of enjoying the videos of their performances at this site and the mp3 of the live version of Lazy Eye. Been listening to this album very regularly, and continues to impress.
At least it's new to me.I like this sound, it's reminiscent of the early 90's. Well, the early 90's that didn't suck outlandish ass. I think I really like this, but I could simply be loopy from not getting to bed yet. I don't know for sure...What do you think? Is this good stuff? Or am I loopy?
I LOVE seeing bands at the Troubadour. The music sounded great and the crowd was sweet and happy as was the band. Some times despite it's reputation, Los Angeles really gets it right. And as far as best albums of 2006 this one HAS to be somewhere high on the list. I owe a debt of gratitude to MOG 'cause I read about them back in the summer, got the album and it's been on heavy rotation ever sin...
i'm pretty sure a few of you have experience when music and life events perfectly converge with a moment in your life. that happen to me today.i got to my girlfriend's house before she got home and decided to stay in the car and wait for her. i have my mp3 player velcroed to my dash and thought this would be as good as any time to listen to some music and wind down from another day from college...
