If you've ever heard me talk about the Shinys, you know I have a bit of a soft spot for them. (I have a soft spot for anyone who gives me a free ticket to their show and then buys me drinks afterwards. Why yes, I can be easily bought.) Last month, in the world of Shiny Toy Guns, all was up in the air. Rumors were everywhere about vocalist Carah Faye Charnow leaving the band to get married or personal stuff or whatever (those have since been squashed and Carah is now working on a new band in Sweden) and there was reason to believe that nothing would be the same for one of LA's most vibrant acts. A few days later, an announcement came of a new singer, one named Sisely Treasure (who by all ... MORE

♫ Radiohead - Reckoner (Holden Remix)
Someone mentioned under one of the previous posts that i could be depressed, It made me realize that I kinda am.. & enjoying it, since it's a result of hearing someone's name that i haven't heard from for ages - someone special, I hope that someone reads this and hates me more for it.
Here's a little reward for bearing with my irrelevant & illiterate posts:

One of the few bands I can't seem to get sick of is Shiny Toy Guns. Having only one album out, they've already made it big and caught the attention of millions of people across America. Their electro/rock sound is catchy, simple and easily addicting and personally, I don't know a single person that doesn't like them. What they do for me is pick me up when I'm down, especially their song "Chemistry of a Car Crash". It doesn't feature their female vocalist Carah Faye, but i... MORE
Listen to this song a couple times. It WILL grow on you. Of course it's a little weird but that's because it comes from the electro goth tribute to prince.....? haha.
Sorry my file won't upload because it's not in the correct format. but you can probably look in my digital music thing and listen.

here's a CA band I've been listening to lately. last fall you could hardly get me away from this album.their first single was Le Disko, but this was my first fav (in a close race with the opening track)seems this song is about ruminating an ex on a rainy day. now how would _anybody_ relate to this? there's a lot I like about this music: driving rock, female vocalist (other tracks) and the electro influence. here's a 3rd party video I found for the opening track. I like... MORE

So I have found myself investigating electro-pop, glam-rock and I have found Shiny Toy Guns...actually I saw them play Conan. If you feel like transporting back to the dance halls of the 1980's while still maintaing your "hipster" cred, here's your phonebooth So-crates.
Wow.. yeah I said it. LOL I am standing by it.
