Gotta love a female singer who is quoted in today's paper saying “I don’t have an iPod,” she said. “I have a computer that I turn on occasionally. I still have all my vinyl. Sissy” — her nickname for Moorer, who lives in New York with her husband, the alt-country singer Steve Earle — “says she has no room in her apartment for records, but I’d keep mine even if I had to sleep on them. You can’t roll a joint on an iPod.”

Shelby Lynne's new album will be out Feb. 5. Lot of buzz on it. She's an amazing singer. The album, Just A Little Lovin', finds her covering Dusty Springfield. It's gotten raves from many who have heard it. Here's a video of Lynne recording one of the tracks.
New Album from Shelby Lynne, Its a nice jazzy album that covers some great classic songs. This one is a Dusty Springfield song that I love.
I only want to be with you:
I dont know what it is that makes me love you so

It happens to be true
I only want to be with you

Which is true. So how cool is i... MORE
The great Shelby Lynne returns in February with an album of songs made famous by Dusty Springfield. Here's the self-penned track that first won me over back in 1999...
This is a great album. Shelby Lynne's covers of old Dusty Springfield songs may be better than the original versions. She has a most beautiful voice, and sends shivers up my spine with her styling of them.
With Amy Winehouse love going on on MOG it made me think of female singers of the past several years that are graced with the moniker of the next big thing and their albums are called the new "Dusty in Memphis". Shelby Lynne started off as a country singer on Epic Records and did a duet with George Jones in 1988 as well as having several songs on the country charts. Lynne was disillusioned and unhappy with the way that Epic was pushing her career and split with them an... MORE
