Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings are a funk/soul band. They are signed to Daptone Records, where the Dap-Kings are the house band. Lead singer Sharon Jones originally appeared on the Soul Providers' album Soul Tequila, which started the collaboration between her and Bosco Mann aka Gabe Roth. Daptone Records released the brand new video for "100 Days, 100 Nights" by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings this week. According to the video info:The video was directed by Adam Elias Buncher using two vintage TV cameras bought on E-Bay for $50 dollars each. Shows how much you can do with just a little soul!

I posted on her one other time when I first started MOGgin' but it only got 3 or 4 listens and I think 2 were from yours truly. It just dawned on me to YouTube her and I came up with this great clip from a club I used to live down the block from. this sharon jones cover of "eddie bo - hook and sling" apparently was released as a 7" for the desco funk label, but I have never seen it.
probably the best sharon jones' tune in my humble opinion and as far as i know it is only available on the "spike's choice" cd. enjoy!... MORE

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have been rocking out in the Daptone studios again. With Sexy Results! 100 Days, 100 Nights is the third full album from the soulful funksters and will be available as of September 25th on Daptone records. What? They've been shaking booties since the early 70's and this only their 3rd album? Craziness.
