All Music GuideIt's an odd thing -- Chapel Hill style indie rock with horns. There's nothing incredibly strange about either element, but together, they create a rather interesting sound that makes up for the merely-okay quality of Second String's songwriting -- between the tight turns and switches of the group's compositions and the inventive (not gimmicky) quality of their instrumental setup, Second String winds up a pretty appealing record.
