There's a killer mash-up in here somewhere...
Speaking of which, in this vid the Scissor Sisters meet Rocky Horror...
...while in this one the Muppets meet Bullitt...
...and all the time I'm thinking, isn't the Scissor Sisters tune kinda just a porny gay version of the Muppets tune or what?
this was my 3rd time seeing scissor sisters. saw them once here in houston when they were just getting big, once at coachella last year, and then again last nite on the ta-dah tour. this was their last show in the US for awhile. they played a pretty even mix of tracks from the first album and the new one. they did not play some of my favorite tracks, such as "lovers in the backseat", "the other side", or "electrobix". they did however play a couple of tracks i wasn't... So if the weather where you are is anything like it's been here in the Northeast, then you're likely in need of some happyslappy wakeup tunes... either that or stay in bed with your rainboots on. Anyway, yet another mashup I don't know who to attribute to DJ-wise, but a killer combination of Scissor Sisters, The Beatles, George Michael and even a brief moment of Aretha. Hey, they had me at the beatles and George, but when it all comes together I am SOLD. Hope you kids enjoy!

They also represent another chance for honest fans to try and get tickets instead of the... MORE
I just caught them last night and they we're fantastic. What a stage presence. If anyone gets a chance they are a must see.
A few hours ago, my new _Rolling Stone_ was delivered and inside was an interview with Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears. The highlight of the piece was Shears discussing a comment he made recently at the National Association of Recording Merchandisers convention, where, after seeing the Raconteurs' record priced at nearly twenty dollars at retailer FYE, he called out the merchant by name and declared that records should not cost more than fifteen dollars. Allegedly, t... MORE
Logged onto Global Cool at 8.30 to get ready for the 9am sale and found the tickets for the Scissor Sisters are available already! Good to see purchases limited to 2 only and at £23.50 each that's not bad for what will be a memorable gig at the Barra's. So that news has made my day and it'll be the first time I've seen a band two nights running - will be interesting to see if they vary the set list. Booking fee is £7.29 which is another topic for another time! Rollin... MORE
There seems to be a running fascination with cheese in my first blogs here, and a worrisome one at that, but it usually all turns out right in the end. I was one of those who saw the Scissor Sisters, listened to their music, preferred their first video for Laura than the second (it seemed more goldfrapp than britney back then) before all the mainstream hoopla hit them the summer of 2004. I'm not looking for a medal, it was inevitable really. The point is how do you react... MORE
The new Scissor Sisters album just isn't doing much for me. I loved their debut, but this one seems a bit flat. All the flamboyant excess of the original is still there, but the songwriting just seems substantially weaker to me. (Especially the front half of the album. The second half is stronger.)
