All Music GuideThe performance, recorded at the Record Plant for a radio broadcast, dates from 1975, when the band was at its peak promoting the Wire Fire album. The sound is hot, with Kim Simmonds taking some nice solos, and the band is in good form, covering "Tell Mama," "All I Can Do (Is Cry)," and Jimmy Reed's "You Don't Have to Go." It's all a little pale next to some of the acts that followed in the wake of Savoy Brown, but this tape is one of the best chances one has to hear the seminal group during the close of its original glory days.
